FAQ
When and where is the party?
The 2025 Muriel Street Party will be on Saturday, June 21, 2025, starting at 3pm. The party will take place on the yards, parking pads and sidewalks of Muriel Avenue, south of Selkirk Avenue.
If it rains, the party will be postponed to Sunday, June 22, 2025, same time.
What will the party have?
There will be food, drinks, games and entertainment for neighbours of all ages.
Who's invited?
Everyone in the neighbourhood! You don't have to live on Muriel Avenue to come. Gertrude Place, Selkirk Avenue, Aldwych Avenue, Eaton Avenue and Pape Avenue neighbours are all welcome.
Can I bring a friend from outside the neighbourhood?
You sure can!
How can I help?
The easiest way to contribute to the party is to bring snacks or drinks to one of the snack and drink tables. Home-baked goods are welcome - just remember to put out a note with their ingredients. The drink tables will have coolers with ice and cups, so feel free to stock them with beer, wine, spirits, water, pop, juice, etc.
If you'd like to do more, have a look at the jobs on the volunteer page and pick one that you're interested in.
Finally, if you're able, you can donate to the party. These donations help me cover the party's organizational expenses (things like ice cream, pizza, entertaimnent, etc).
Is it free to attend?
Yes!
How much does ice cream cost?
Thank to our generous neighbours' donations, ice cream from the truck will be free!
How much will pizza cost?
Thank to our generous neighbours' donations, pizza will be free. No need to order in advance. Pizza will arrive at 6pm. There will be cheese, pepperoni, meat-free and the works.
Are you closing the street?
No, we'll be using the yards, parking pads and sidewalks of Muriel Avenue, south of Selkirk Avenue. We'll also be putting out some large traffic cones at the Muriel / Selkirk intersection to calm the traffic.
I live on the south part of Muriel Avenue. Can I still street-park my car while the party is happening?
Yes! But if you're able to park it elsewhere, I'd really appreciate it!
I don't want people on my property. What do I do?
No problem. The week before the party, I'll be leaving a little pink flag in everyone's mailbox. If you are OK with people on your lawn, walkway or parking pad during the party, put the flag in your front yard. If not, just toss the flag in the garbage, and your neighbours will know not to disturb you.
